(x + 3)(x^2 + 5x – 4)

= x^3 + 5x^2 - 4x + 3x^2 + 15x - 12

= x^3 + 8x^2 + 11x - 12

= x^3 + 5x^2 - 4x + 3x^2 + 15x - 12

= x^3 + 8x^2 + 11x - 12

the factors are (x + 3) (x + 7) not (x - 3) (x - 7)

because it will make it as x^2 - 7x - 3x + 21 which will become x^2 - 10x + 21 (see its minus not plus) whole equation goes wrong if its mistakenly involve minus instead of plus

I am referring to the first question. You answer is right. My apologies.

User: Factor: x2 + 3x + 7x + 21

Weegy: X2-10x+21 = (x-3)(x-7)

The answer should be positive : X2 + 10x + 21 = (x + 3)(x + 7)
