4(x + 4) = 6(x - 2)
4x + 16 = 6x - 12
4x - 6x = -12 - 16
2x = -28
x = -28/2
x = -14

4y-8+y=6y+40-4y;

5y - 8 = 2y + 40;

5y - 2y = 40 + 8;

3y = 48;

y = 48/3;

y = 16
