Does increased spending on IT always mean better business performance?

That’s not always the case. Research shows that small businesses have the tendency to go way above the recommended spending on IT costs but this doesn’t always translate to better performance. It’s true that investing on IT is proven to help reduce overall costs but what most businesses fail to look at is how they use their budget to get the best IT infrastructures and services which now leads to the question, “How much should I spend on IT anyway?”

What works for one business might not be the allocation and spending that will best apply to you, but for starters, you can take a look at these three things: the size of your company, the type of industry you it belongs to, and perhaps the most crucial factor – the total revenue of your business. Knowing these three factors will help you gauge your spending on IT.

But again, what you need to remember is that your spending on IT isn’t’ directly proportional to the growth and performance of your business. It boils down to intelligent strategies like Technology Expense Optimization (TEO) and other business solutions provided by BCM One. Visit https://www.bcmone.com/solutions/ to learn more.
