The common ratio for the following sequence : 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, ... is 0.1.
Common ratio = 0.001/0.01 = 0.01/0.1 = 0.1

The next term of the following sequence: 12, 6, 3, ... is 1.5 .
Common ratio = 3/6 = 6/12 = 1/2
Next term = 3*1/2 = 3/2 = 1.5
