User: how do you use a fryer?

Weegy: How do you use a fryer? The first thing you want to do when firing up your fryer is to choose the proper oil or fat for your recipe. Different fats require different cooking times etc. [ You then want to pour in your oil, making sure not to surpass the “max fill” line. The general rule of thumb is that you want enough oil in your fryer to completely immerse the food. Then you want to set your temperature. Much like an oven or a hot pan, most consumer deep fryers will have a knob or buttons to set the heat. Then you wait. Wait until your fat has reached the right temperature in order to properly cook your food. If you don’t have a thermometer (or some of the newer models will read the temperature for you), an easy trick is to drop in a small piece of whatever you are frying to make sure it sizzles and crisps. Add your food carefully, remembering that you are working with very hot oil which will burn you if splashed. If your fryer has a basket, you can lower the food into the oil with the handle. Otherwise use a slotted spoon to submerge your food so that the fat can drip through. Then, watch both your food and the time. Frying is a very fast cooking method, so you want to make sure your food doesn’t get overcooked. Use the basket or slotted spoon to remove your fried foods, and drain them on a bed of paper towels before serving! ]
