log (2x + 1) = log (x - 1);
log (2x + 1) - log (x - 1) = 0;
log ((2x + 1)/(x - 1)) = 0;
(2x + 1)/(x - 1) = 10^0;
(2x + 1) = (x - 1);
x = -2;
