The distance between the points (-4, -5) and (3, -1) is sqrt (7^2 + 4^2) = sqrt 65.

x^2 - 8x + 3 = 0
x^2 - 8x + 16 - 13 = 0
(x - 4)^2 = 13 which is used in the process to complete the square.
