Question and answer
Calculate the osmotic pressure of a 0.3 M glucose solution at 27°C (R = 0.082 L·atm/mol·K).
osmotic pressure formula = iMRT = 1 * 0.3 * 0.082 * 300 = 7.38 atm.

Calculate the molarity of a solution containing 12 g KOH in 300 mL of water.
Question
Not Answered
Updated 30 days ago|1/14/2026 7:25:09 AM
1 Answer/Comment
M = moles / volume(L)
Mass of KOH = 12 g, molar mass = 39+16+1=56 g/mol
Moles = 12 / 56 = 0.2143 mol
Volume = 300 mL = 0.300 L
M = 0.2143 / 0.300 = 0.714 M

Let Cr = x
K2CrO4 - 2(+1) + x + 4(-2) = 0
2 + x - 8 = 0
x - 6 = 0 x = +6

1 Answer/Comment
[H ] = 0.005 M (HNO3 is strong)
pH = -log[H ] = -log(0.005)
0.005 = 5×10 ³ pH = -(log5 + log10 ³) = -(0.699 - 3) = 2.30

Number of moles in 22 g of CO .
Question
Not Answered
Updated 30 days ago|1/14/2026 7:23:47 AM
1 Answer/Comment
n = mass / molar mass
Mass of CO = 22 g, molar mass = 12 + 16 = 28 g/mol
n = 22 / 28 = 0.786 mol
