What aspect of the League of Nations made it ineffectual?
The League of Nations was ineffectual because some of the major powers, notably the US, were not members. Decisions had to be by unanimous vote, which meant that decisions were rarely taken. And though it was set up as a peace-keeping organization, it failed to prevent a number of wars.
