While the 1920s are often associated with wealth, prosperity, and decadence, for some it was a period of economic depression and hardships. For some farmers, the period was marked by poor crops and a drop in agricultural prices. Economic progress (and depression) were not the only themes of the decade, however. The 1920s were a decade of contrasts, marked by economic prosperity, cultural transformation, and social change. While some experienced wealth and modernization, farmers faced hardships. The era saw the rise of consumerism, jazz music, technological advancements, and women's suffrage. However, it was also marred by Prohibition and ended with the stock market crash, leading to the Great Depression. The 1920s were a transformative period of progress and challenges.
