Fill Container A with 100 ml of water and Container B with 100 ml of oil. Drop a marble of the same size into each of the container. Why the container containing water allows the marble to fall through more easily than oil?
A marble falls more quickly through water than through oil because oil is much more VISCOUS than water. Higher viscosity increases frictional forces, which slow down the marble.
