Nuclear power plants generate large amounts of electricity with very little fuel and produce low greenhouse gas emissions, making them a reliable and efficient energy source with high energy density, but they are very expensive to build and decommission, create hazardous radioactive waste, carry risks of serious accidents, cause thermal pollution, rely on limited uranium supplies, and raise security concerns.
