what is the biggest size you can gauge your ear and still have it go back
to normal?
1st its stretching, not gauging, a gauge is a size of measurement for the diameter of the jewelry.
anyways, you can damage your ears at any size (even 12 gauge) if you dont stretch properly, wait the correct amount of time for healing, [ and dont use the correct jewelry. if they are damaged they wont shrink back, if thats what you mean by damage.
they wont shrink back after 2 gauge usually. (or smaller for some people) but if they arent stretched properly they wont go back to normal nomatter what.
heres a waiting time chart to follow:
Fresh piercing to first stretch: Approx 5 to 6
months
16g to 14g - 1 month
14g to 12g - 1 month
12g to 10g - 1.5 months
10g to 8g - 2 months
8g to 6g - 3 months
6g to 4g - 3 month
4g to 2g - 3 months
2g to 0g - 4 months
0g to 00g - 4 months
also never stretch with acrylics or silicone or organics. always wear titanium, surgical steel, or glass while healing. never stretch with pinchers or dead stretch either, always use tapers then put plugs in right after, tapers arent jewelry. massaging your ears helps loosen them, keep them healthy, moisturize them, thicken them, etc. i use jojoba oil for my lobes.
if you have any questions about stretching feel free to email me at abbccjns@yahoo.com, ill help you with anything you need to know. i have various larger gauge piercings, with the biggest being my 9/16" (14mm) first lobe piercings and 10 gauge septum piercing. ]
