Weegy: One of the reasons he supported the decision was because the Germans had invaded neutral Belgium. The Belgian king was his family as well. [ The George V's grand mother, Queen Victoria, was the niece (through her mother) of Leopold I, the first king of independent Belgium. Before he became that, Leopold was the husband of King George VI's (Victoria's father's brother) only child. Had she and her child not died in childbirth, British royal family would have been descended from Leopold. ]

In history the reason that the countries ( Britain and Germany ) did not get along in World War I is: Britain viewed Germany as a more of threat to the European balance of power than Britain's traditional enemy, France.
