Weegy: A cast is taken of a footprint. A mold is done of a bone or other part. One is the reverse of the other. In the cast the plaster of Paris fills the space and gives you something that could make another print In a mold you are trying to make [ another copy of the bone.

Fossil is any remains, impression, or trace of a living thing of a former geologic age, as a skeleton, footprint, etc.
