HOW DOES THE OBJECTIVES ASSIST YOU IN COMPLETING THE ASSIGNMENT?
The objectives let you know what skill you are supposed to be developing, or what knowledge you are supposed to be gaining. The assignment is where you show the teacher that you have those skills or that knowledge. [ For example, if one of the objectives for an essay assignment is to show good paragraph development, then you need to make sure your paragraphs all have good supporting details or evidence to support your main ideas. Then the teacher can see that you know how to develop a paragraph.
Success in life is all about audience and purpose. You have to know who your audience is, and
make choices that allow you to achieve your purpose with that audience. If you're selling computers, you need to know when to use computer jargon and when not to, for example. If you want to get permission to do something on a job, you need to know if your boss prefers a quick request in person or a detailed written analysis to look over. Then you provide whichever is going to work with that audience. In school, the teacher is usually your audience. The objectives are what the teacher wants you to learn. Your purpose is to show the teacher that you've achieved those objectives so that the teacher will give you a good grade. ]
