Long bones are mostly located in the arms (upper limbs) and legs (lower limbs). Long bones in the upper limbs are the humerus, radius, ulna, metacarpals, and phalanges. Long bones in the lower limbs are the tibia, fibula, femur, metatarsals, and phalanges.

Femur or thigh bone is the longest, most voluminous, and strongest bone of the mammalian bodies. It forms part of the hip and part of the knee.
