A gas in a 6.2 mL cylinder has a pressure of 1.4 atmospheres. A piston is pushed in until the gas volume is 3.1 mL, while the temperature remains constant. 2.8 atm the final pressure of the gas in the cylinder.
Solution:
P1V1 = P2V2
1.4 × 6.2 P2 × 3.1
8.68 P2 x 3.1
Divide both side by 3.1
P2 = 8.68/3.1
P2 = 2.8 atm
