8x + 4 = 3x + 5;

8x - 3x = 5 - 4;

5x = 1;

x = 1/5

(22b - 8) - 7(3b + 2) = -7

22b - 8 - 21b - 14 = -7;

22b - 21b = -7 + 8 + 14;

b = 15
