(4x^2 + 5x + 3) + (3x^2 – 8x - 5)
= 4x^2 + 5x + 3 + 3x^2 – 8x - 5
= (4x^2 + 3x^2) + (5x - 8x) + (3 - 5)
= 7x^2 - 3x - 2

(x - 8)(x + 9) = 0;

(-9)^2 + (-9) – 72 = 0;

The sum of three consecutive numbers is 150. The numbers are 49, 50 and 51.

x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 150;
3x + 3 = 150;
3x = 150 - 3;
3x = 147;
x = 147/3;
x = 49

49 + 50 + 51 = 150
