Weegy: I think a box of chocolates was all the writers of "Forrest Gump" could come up with when they added that quote because it's something that you get all kinds of different flavors of chocolate. [ Maybe back in the 60's and 70's they didn't have the list of chocolates on the back or on the lid, so that quote made sense for Forrest's mom to say, considering what time period the movie is set. I'm not sure if that helps any, but I tried.
