User: In what way has the founder of Wikipedia been successful

Weegy: The founder of Wikipedia was originally trying to get experts with PhD’s to write the articles, somewhat like the encyclopedias are today. [ He figured out that it was taking way to long for the information to be posted online, so in 2001 the founder opened it to the public so they can help add to his online encyclopedia. His fear was that the information would not be true and turn into a cluster of junk, so he put a team of personnel that oversee all the changes before they get published. The only downside to making it public is that colleges and universities do not accept it as credible because there could be times where some items make it onto Wikipedia without consent from the moderators. The successful part of the website is that the creator did complete what he was set out to do. I also think this is a great website to get your research in a certain direction, then use credible websites to back your statements. Social networks allow people to connect for a variety of reasons in a digital environment. You might join LinkedIn to meet business contacts, MySpace to find a band member, or Facebook to see pictures of old friends and meet new ones. Whatever environment you decide to be a part of, posting information about you has become an issue of concern. What are those concerns? I mean what is the big deal about privacy? There are multiple concerns, or even no concern depending on who you talk to. I believe there are plenty of concerns for privacy online. For instance, you have a Facebook account and add a picture of you. Now let’s say for some reason you decide to take down that picture by deleting it from the account. What you think happened was that no one can access it because it’s gone. ]
