To get the diagonal path you use pythegrous theorem: LET THE PATH BE C a^2+ b^2=c^2 400+1764=2164 square root 2164 to get 46.5 yards =squrare root c^2 to get c hence 46.5=c

A rectangular garden has a length of 20 yards and a width of 42 yards. A diagonal path runs from one end of the garden to the other. 46.52 yard long is the diagonal path.
Solution
d = Sqrt. of w^2 + l^2
d = Sqrt. of 42^2 + 20^2
d = 46.52
