Question and answer
what sre the types of leaderships in a business
Autocratic Autocratic is a type of leadership in business where the head leader makes executive decisions that are expected to be followed without question or feedback. [ This leadership style does not consult with followers nor does it need approval from any authority to make the decisions. This style is uncommon in many businesses but is effective in some rare cases such as the military, the police force or an E.R. doctor giving commands. The followers are given little or no voice under this type of business leadership. Autocratic leadership in business is not recommended for use in
retail, tourism or any people-based industry. Most subordinates do not respond well to this leadership style except in specific industries. Participative The participative leadership style in business is commonly seen in retail and people-based businesses. This type of leadership pulls followers into the decision-making process to gather feedback and ideas. The leader still has the final say in all decisions but the followers input is considered with great consideration. In this leadership style the leader is not perceived as knowing all things. Instead, she hires employees with different skill sets that she gleans from in her decision-making and daily affairs. Participative leadership empowers employees to think on their own, provide feedback and express thoughts, feelings and ideas. Delegative Delegative leadership gives different tasks to various teams of people. Once the tasks are delegated, the leader steps away from the task and allows the team to accomplish the task on their own. This leadership style is very effective when the proper tasks are given to teams with the ability and knowledge to accomplish them. The leader is still responsible for the outcome of the work, but places trust in the different team leaders to do a good job. This leadership style is also referred to as “laissez faire,” which means “to not interfere in the affairs of others.” Read more: Types of Leadership in Business | eHow.com ]
