How many different colored flags can be made from 10 colors of cloth if each flag is to consist of 3 different stripes?
Weegy:
The answer is 720 flags. [ 3) Each flag is to consist of 3 different stripes...again there is ambiguity as to whether or not a "unique" flag means it has the same colors or the same colors AND the same order... In fact, if you really think about this one what if you have two flags: red, green, blue and blue, green, red Are these two flags unique? Not if you turn one of them around, but do we count that? So my assumption is that order DOES matter, so again we just taking 10 items and seeing how many ways we can order 3 of them: 1st stripe: 10 2nd stripe: 9 3rd stripe: 8 - > 10*9*8 = 90*8 = 720 ]
