a^3 - 2a^2 -15a
=a ( a^2 -2a - 15)
= a ( a^2 - 5a + 3a -15)
=a (a - 5) ( a + 3)

6/v - 9/v = -1/2
-3/v = -1/2
v = -3/( -1/2)
v= -3 *(-2)
v = 6
