User: where can i buy live termites?

Weegy: I supply live wood-eating pest termites BUT I think you'll find the price a bit of a shock. Depending on the species they sometimes come as cheap as $25/g, often as not more than double that. Your idea, whilst fun, isn't likely to work well. [ Termites need conditions just right to infest a tree and can live in a tree for decades without causing major harm. It is also very hard to move colonies into new locations. An induced disease is far more likely to achieve your aims but there is a risk that a sick tree will drop before you are ready. Bottom line is that this would be a very risky process. Perhaps you should ask a few arborists round to assess it. Unless the council has already knocked you back or your neighbours lodged objections, you may find that it is easier than you think. Are you in a Brumby-defined fire risk area? If so you'll likely be able to cut any tree within 10 m of a building or 4 m of any fence. That doesn't leave much scope for Council vegetation retention policies. ]
