Kaysha, this answer is identical to the auto answer.
Added 10/8/2012 10:23:34 AM
vanilla2bean, kaysha just restated the answer.
Added 10/8/2012 10:27:21 AM
@vanilla2bean- The auto answer did not answer in a complete sentence or provide a source. I noticed a user asking this question a few times today. I was thinking maybe they did not know if it was correct. So I restated it in a complete sentence and provided a source.

Aaah. Help me out here. I've been still answering like Kaysha above, but have had other Mods tell me I no longer need to do this. Because I'm a Mod I can just answer with the letter and options only. I have yet to do this, because it seems not accurate. But I thought I'd ask other opinions.
Added 10/8/2012 10:36:55 AM
I understand what you mean Vanilla2bean. I remember the conversation you had with another MOD a few weeks ago regarding this. I answer this way because I think it assures the user the answer is correct and accurate. To me, this would be a more efficient auto answer in the future and will assure the accuracy of the answer.

I normally do not re-answer questions in the archive that are correct but I think a user kept doubting this answer so I provided the additional information.

Added 10/8/2012 10:43:02 AM
That's why I do it too Kaysha. I don't want to step on any toes with other MODs, but I feel that it keeps answers clearer. Now that I understand why you did it, it makes sense. I often see those types of questions come up, where it needs restating and citing for reassurance.

Yes, I was going through the archives and noticed this question came up more than 3 times, probably by the same user.

I know it is not required to restate the question but only required to answer in complete sentences but as an expert and a Mod, I take this extra step to make the experience more valuable to the user.

Mods have to answer the questions the same way as other experts, in complete sentences. This was not always a rule, and that is why you will often see auto answers just giving the simple answer to multiple choice questions. Moderators do not get any special privileges when it comes to following the rules.

debnjerry, this is what I thought. I have kept to my way of answering questions regardless of the information I was given. I just thought I'd confirm. Thank you all!
