User: Give examples of how to deal with office equipment problems

Weegy: Every office has problems with equipment at one time or another. How you handle those problems says a lot about you and how you run your business. [ Today, we?ll discuss some ways to deal with common office equipment problems that don't include kicking the copier, throwing the laptop out the window, or yelling at the fax machine. First, buy quality office products. Make sure that the equipment you buy is from a reputable office supply company and that the brand is one you recognize. Don't buy secondhand or used equipment unless you are buying from an authorized dealer. Keep up with your equipment maintenance schedule. Sometimes, small problems can be detected and fixed during routine inspections. Just like your car and air conditioning system, your copier and other office equipment and supplies will benefit from regular check-ups. When an actual problem does arise, check the owner's manual that came with the office supply. Many times, the solution to the problem will be found right there in the pages of the booklet. Don't forget to check the obvious?is the machine plugged in, and does the receptacle work? How embarrassing would it be to call your service tech only to discover that your computer was accidentally unplugged last night by the cleaning crew? Make sure everything has power and is turned on before you start troubleshooting. Try to search for your problem online. Googling the error message on your computer or other electronic device will often result in helpful information you can use either to fix the problem yourself or to give more details to the service tech. Odds are, that's what your IT guy is going to do first anyways. ]
