the three organizations that control and regulate the media in south Africa are: - Independent Communications Authority of South Africa(ICASA) - The Broadcasting Complaints Commissions - The Film and Publication Board The South [ African Bill of [ Rights insures freedom of the media; however two organizations that regulate, control or highly influence the media are: The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), which is funded by the government. South Africa has a Bill of Rights which includes freedom of the media but there
are certain organizations that control certain aspects of South African press and media such as the government funded SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation). There are also things currently being deliberated over that may take away some of the freedom that the media now enjoys including the Protection of State Information Bill and the Media Appeals Tribunal.
