law of universal gravitation The Sun keeps all of the planets orbiting it because of the law of universal gravitation. The law also states that the sun would have more gravity than Earth because the Earth is more massive.

Oh the dangers of relying on for accuracy. Newton's law states that any two bodies will exert a gravitational effect on each other. The Sun will exert a larger gravitational force than Earth because the Earth is LESS massive than the Sun.
