Weegy: The railroad without a doubt helped our country grow into what it is now. Business (especially farmers) needed a quicker, cheaper, and safer way to transport their products to other parts of the country. [ Most of the products stayed on the east coast and many to the mid-west. However, their was only one or two railroads that went to the west coast. ]
