User: what is geometry?

Weegy: 1. Any test problem, homework problem or chapter that you made errors or are unsure about -- learn these and do not leave it to guessing. If there is any concept you missed here, it could mess up the concepts afterwards that are based on the points [ you missed. So review all your work and concentrate on the parts that you get confused or wrong. 2. When I had to help a couple of students cram for a final without having had a geometry teacher all semester, I had them memorize the concepts in groups. (a) Which rules are based on "360 degrees" or 180 or 90 (b) Which rules make things "equal" or "congruent" (c) what rules or definitions are easy to get reversed or mixed up, so you need to distinguish those. If you group concepts together that are similar it is easier to remember the set. If you study concepts together that are easy to confuse with each other, you can train yourself to tell them apart so you won't mix them up on a test. 3. Make your own notecards. Use different color pencils to write with, to group definitions together in one color, or rules about parallel lines/parallelograms, or circles. If you summarize these yourself, it will help you organize the information in your mind better. It will also allow you to review everything and catch what you don't know or get confused. Go through your book and outline each chapter, grouping like concepts together. If you get anything confused, stop and study it until you can distinguish the difference. This will prevent the information from getting jumbled up together in your mind, if you have an outline and organized groups. Best wishes and review all your test and homework problems. RE: test-taking in general Ask your teacher about the format (multiple choice or proofs or open answers). For multiple choice, always plug all the choices in backwards, cross out answers that don't work, and circle ones that do work. Write out your notes when you take your test so you can check your work. Always plug your answers in backwards, when you can, to check if they are right.
