The \midpoint of a segment whose endpoints are (3, 7) and (7, 3) is (5, 5).

((x1+x2)/2, (y1+y2)/2)

= ((3 + 7)/2, (7 + 3)/2)

= (10/2, 10/2)

= (5, 5)

The midpoint of a segment whose endpoints are (4, 0) and (0, -2) is (2, -1).

((x1+x2)/2, (y1+y2)/2)
= ((4 + 0)/2, (0 - 2)/2)
= (4/2, -2/2)
= (2, -1)
