We must live within the resources the nation can afford. That is why a key part of Batho Pele is a relentless search for increased efficiency and the reduction of wastage within the Public Service. [ Every Rand wasted in cumbersome, inefficient processes, in delays and duplication, is money which could be invested in improving services. The aim is to progressively raise standards of service, especially for those whose access to public services have been limited in the past and whose needs are greatest.
