While measuring diameter of capillary in travelling microscope, the stand(where capillary is placed) is seen above the bore of capillary when watched from the eye-piece of travelling microscope because: the focus the microscope on the transverse cross section of the tube and take readings to measure the internal diameter of the tube in two mutually perpendicular directions.
