you must do crossed multiplication: 2 = x(3x-7) 2 = 3x^2 - 7x 3x^2 -7x - 2 = 0 then cuadratic equation: x = 7+-sqrt( 49 + 24) / 6 x = 7 +-sqrt(73) / 6 sqrt of 73= (aproximately) 8,9 first solution x= 7 + 8.9 / 6 second one x = 7 [ + 8.9 / 6 (I suppose you can do 8.9 = 9) ]
