Weegy: When ice turns to water, or water turns to steam? It's "phase transition" -- the process through which one form of matter turns to another form of matter. [ It happens when conditions like temperature and pressure change just enough to cause a change in the way the atoms interact. ]

When we heat an ice cube to become steam, the individual molecules (H2O) do not change their size, but rather their arrangement and movement patterns.
