Hypertension as a teenager will impact your life in the fact that you have a disease that needs to be looked at seriously. It can not be ignored, you may feel fine but hypertension is known as the silent killer. [ Hypertension puts undue strain on the organs and vessels. It is very important that you are compliant with treatment (take prescribed medication), stick to a low sodium diet, which means no chips, pretzels, fast foods, packaged frozen meals, canned soups, processed meats and cheeses, ketchup, hot dogs, table salt. If medication and diet are ignored and blood pressure continues on
without being treated, chances are your kidneys will be next to fail. Hypertension as a teenager will impact you less, if you are compliant with care....exercise, eat right, take medications as prescribed, see your doctor regularly.
