Well, the reason housing delivery is so slow is simply because of 2 things: Corruption and Lack of Will.
There is wide spread corruption in government and surrounding tenders. Tenders are the contracts to build the houses. [ Tender are issued under corrupt basis and nepotism. Contracts are given to friends, family and BEE companies that have neither the skill and expertise nor the ability to build such a massive number of houses.
Also, goverment lacks the determination to stamp out corruption and will NEVER give the tenders to a capable company - a sad, but realistic fact. Their racist
ideals will destroy South Africa.
Houses are issued according to applications. You must apply, and then wait YEARS. Some ppl have been waiting 15 years for a simple 30m2 house! ]
