You shouldn't have turned it on! If you are unfortunate to have this experience repeated, remove the battery and sim and put the phone in a warm [ place to dry out. Don't turn it on until you are sure it is completely dry throughout. This will give it the best chance of still working. In your current position, I wouldn't cancel the virgin contract if it is monthly unless you are near the end because they will charge you for terminating. The sim will probably be ok, so just get a new handset (pay as you go virgin is the best option as you won't have to have it unlocked) and chuck the new sim or keep it as a spare Keep the receipt and sue the school for the cost of the phone and anything else that has been damaged by the teachers negligence. ]
