Question and answer
does entertainment affects the ability of news media to uphold their social responsibilities.
Yes See in the past 15 yrs we've gone from 90% of news media being tv, magazines, newspapers to about 50%. [ With the introduction of better laptop computers and smartphones we will soon see a massive movement to digital technolgies and tv and newspapers will soon become on-line because of more and more internet users. By 2050 tv would become endangered the way we know it but tv would soon become a computer program not a metal box with wires at the back of it connecting it to electricty. Tv and newspapers will exist by 2050 but they will be online that;s the difference. ]

Entertainment can potentially compromise the ability of news media to fulfill their social responsibilities as it may prioritize attracting audiences and generating revenue over delivering unbiased and informative news, leading to sensationalism and a decline in the quality and credibility of reporting. However, when used responsibly, entertainment elements in news media can help engage and educate a wider audience, making complex topics more accessible and fostering public interest and awareness.
