Two technicians are discussing electromagnetic induction. Technician A says that the induced voltage can be increased if the speed is increased between the conductor and the magnetic lines of force. Technician B says that the induced voltage can be increased by increasing the strength of the magnetic field. BOTH Technicians A and B are correct.

The main function of capacitors is to store electrostatic energy in an electric field, and give this energy to the circuit, when necessary. They allow the AC to pass but block the flow of DC to avoid a hazardous breakdown of the circuit.

Since there is no voltage across the resistor, no current flows. That is why a capacitor behaves like an open key in DC. When used with very, very high voltages, however, the same capacitor has almost no voltage drop, as it gives the resistor almost all the drop.
