Question and answer
What are the most important concepts with working with a team?
To succeed at accomplishing an assigned task, everyone involved needs to put forth a maximum effort and combine that effort with those of the group. [ When everyone does their job well, the result is realized by an increase in what the team, as a whole, can accomplish. The teamwork concept must be recognized by everyone. Everyone must know that great things can be accomplished if individuals master the fundamentals and work together as one unit. Each individual has his or her own unique contribution, however, the key is for each person's individual role or contribution to be recognized and
appreciated. Teamwork is often overlooked but is something which must be given a high priority and to which attention must be paid. Every member must understand the importance of working together in a unified and coherent manner if the effort is to be successful. Each member of the team must be dedicated to the whole, be willing to act in an unselfish manner, and committed to the success of the project. When challenges arise, as they most certainly always do, the team must have the resources, accountability, and commitment to deal with issues in a constructive and positive manner. This philosophy of team work is essential and will play an integral role in the success of the project. With any team, one of the most important initial steps is to make sure everyone is on the same page. At this point, all members of the team should have the goals and objectives of what is trying to be accomplished laid out in a thorough and coherent manner. If the team does not know what the goals are, then the motivation to succeed is greatly diminished. For example, a head coach cannot expect his team to work hard, practice, and commit to a season with out goals. When the goal of winning games and titles is presented, team members then understand the reasoning behind what is asked from them not only initially but later on. ]
