User: What is Hamlet's concluding thought after he has mused over the skulls and the idea of death?

Weegy: It is a big transition for him. He grew up in the graveyard. He looked into the face of death.

User: What can you conclude about Polonius's character from the words he spoke—and you interpreted—in his "farewell speech" to Laertes in Act I, iii?

Weegy: He's a busybody, always poking his nose in everybody's business. He is incapable of recognizing the separate personalities of other people - he can only imagine them having the same motives and desires as himself. [ He tries to live vicariously through his son by sending Reynaldo to tempt Laertes into the vices of Polonius' own youth. He ascribes the lecherous character of his own youth to Hamlet. He tells his daughter "what to think." His meddling has tragic consequences for his children. ]

User: Briefly compare and contrast the reactions of Hamlet, Laertes, and Fortinbras to the deaths of their fathers.

Weegy: Oh jeeze, this sounds like an essay question. Hamlet- Eventually goes crazy trying to uncover what happened to his father. Laertes- I think it is important to note that the other two are as a result of Hamlet or his father (Fortinbras). [ Fortinbras and Hamlet are similar because they both go on a sort of quest to avenge the death of their father's. Foritnbras starts a war, and in a metaphysical sort of light, Hamlet starts a war with himself. I think a good position would be to compare the actions that followed each of the deaths. ]

User: Reread Claudius's soliloquy in Act III, scene iii, beginning "O, my offense is rank ..." and ending with "All may be well." Briefly tell in your own words what you learn about Claudius that you otherwise may not have known with certainty.

Weegy: This is the first time that Claudius openly admits to killing his brother, the late King Hamlet. [ What with all of the allusions and evidence, he does not try to weasel out of the fact that he has committed a crime. But, he comes to discover that he is not as effective a ruler as he thought. Hamlet behavior has changed so dramatically, that he suspects Hamlet is suspicious of his murder. After all, Hamlet very close to his father, and rejected Claudius as a father. This is very humbling to Claudius, and so he looks for a way to escape the effects of the murder. He wonders what he can do to repent, but knows that he relishes his prizes after the murder; such as being crowned queen, his marriage to Gertrude, his rule of Hamlet, etc. This is revealing to him in the sense that he himself knows something is rotten in Denmark (when the instigator of all of this trouble knows something is wrong, then this is an extremely bleak world). source: yahoo ]
