(5x – 3.6) – (4x + 1.2)

= 5x – 3.6 – 4x - 1.2

= (5x - 4x) + (-3.6 - 1.2)

= x - 4.8

= 5x – 3.6 – 4x - 1.2

= (5x - 4x) + (-3.6 - 1.2)

= x - 4.8
