A pie chart is a circular chart divided into sectors which resemble the slices of a pie. Each sector represents relative frequency or magnitude. Pie charts are widely used in business and mass media. Pie charts are uncommon in scientific literature because it is more difficult to make data comparisons when using area instead of length.
