x^2 + x - 12 = 0
x^2 + 4x - 3x - 4*3 = 0
(x + 4)(x - 3) = 0
(x + 4)(x - 3) = 0 is in factored form.

When x = -3
y = (-3)^2 - 2*(-3) + 6
