Weegy: Inverse variation is increase of a variable but is decrease to the other. If x = 10 and y = 12 then y will be subtracted by 5 when x = 15. Therefore, y = 7 when x = 15.

y varies inversly as x, the equation is y = k/x where k is the constant,
we were given y=12 when x=10,
so k = xy = 10*12 = 120;
The equation is y = 120/x;
When x =15, y = 120/15 = 8
