An IC or Integrated Circuit is a set of electronic circuits on one small plate of semiconductor material, normally silicon. This can be made much smaller than a discrete circuit made from independent components.

A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify and switch electronic signals and electrical power. It is composed of semiconductor material with at least three terminals for connection to an external circuit. A voltage or current applied to one pair of the transistor's terminals changes the current through another pair of terminals.

Added 1/4/2014 6:50:57 AM
@paral, I think you are right!

Yes paral. First asked question in the conversation will match up with first answer in the answer section and will add in the knowledgebase according to that.

Marvel2, It's important to add answers separately that contains more than one question in a conversation.
